Aesthetic Conditions

Cosmetic dermatology involves treating skin conditions that can make people self-conscious about their appearance. In most cases, nonsurgical treatments, including laser treatments, can produce the desired results. These conditions include:

Dr. Loo’s experience and training enables her to choose treatments best-suited for specific skin conditions, producing results that leave your skin appearing youthful and healthy.

Acne and Acne Scars

Acne treatment requires that we target as many pathways of acne formation as possible. We achieve this with a combination of topical prescription creams, oral medication, hormonal manipulation, diet, and recommending a good skincare regimen. At DermEffects, we also offer medical-grade skincare products for acne, acne-specific chemical peels, lasers, and photodynamic therapy.

Dr. Loo offers various treatments for acne scars, including Lutronic® Infini™ microneedling, Pearl Fractional laser, and the noninvasive Laser Genesis.

Brown Spots and Hyperpigmentation

Dr. Loo chooses the most appropriate treatment method for patients’ specific concerns. The menu of options includes medical-grade de-pigmenting skincare products, LimeLight IPL, which helps fade pigmented brown or red cells with heat energy, laser toning with Lutronic Spectra, and a range of chemical peels.

Sagging Skin

The Infini™ microneedling treatment delivers high-intensity, focused radiofrequency energy with precision to the deeper layer of skin called the dermis. This does not damage the skin’s surface and triggers the production of collagen, which is essential for tighter skin. Infini delivers RF energy in multiple passes over the treatment area, at varying depths, creating 3-dimensional volumizing to tighten skin on the lower face and neck.

Unwanted Hair

Laser hair removal is a popular treatment for both women and men at DermEffects. We use 2 different laser systems for these procedures. The ProWave™ laser targets the hair follicle with infrared light and is approved by the FDA for permanent hair reduction. It can quickly treat larger areas, such as the legs and back, with 6 to 8 treatments typically needed to get the best results. We also offer the Nd: YAG 1064 nm, which safely removes unwanted hair from patients, including those with darker skin.

Wrinkles and Fine Lines

BOTOX® Cosmetic and injectable fillers, such as the JUVÉDERM family of products, can be combined with laser skin rejuvenation treatments for a comprehensive anti-aging procedure.

Varicose and Spider Veins

Vein therapy can vary depending on the type and location of the damaged blood vessels. We generally use the CoolGlide laser to treat spider veins on the face and body.
